It is difficult to not get used to and comfortable with an OS, I guess one could have an alarm and very 6 months, reinstall ones PC using a differnt OS. Or put the PC to one side and use... something else (I have a VAX spare if anyone wants to try VMS or Ultrix :)
With MS, this is often quite automatic with OSs shooting themselves in the head & requiring a reinstall.
