I was feeling, until I saw that beemat at tesco.com email address (only ever gets spam) had received the "microsoft corporation security - latest internet pack" . Yay, I'm hip and happening :)

Apologies to Orddu & Remmy for infecting their house network with w32.nachi over the weekend!

My poor laptop acquired it from FILs laptop which acquired it from... places furrein I expect.

It also had snuck onto the house network here and snagged mindygoths Win2K AS machine. She's fixed it now. note to self - must get software firewall on every machine here, as well as must get anti virus solution for the two house servers (tried to install NAV2003 on 'em, they say "No, this is a server. Go and spend 6 billion times as much money on a server anti virus product as you must be a corporation with lots of money to waste. Screw you, have a nice day").

a couple of hours installing Win2K & then applications on the laptop (new 30Gb HDD in it)

And now it isn't responding to ctrl-alt-del on reboot to login.

Good job there isn't an axe nearby else I'd bury it in the keyboard. I'd rather bury it in bill gates' head.
