TCP/SMS, that's what we need. [livejournal.com profile] mindygoth borrowed my 6310i (as it has international roaming enabled) to go to France with & we've been SMSing away all day (me via the palm Tungsten, her via crappy phone keypad as she apparently couldn't be arsed to pair her Tungsten to my phone. Sheesh!) and there's been a couple of ones go strange with "message lost" reports.

Next time she goes to France, she should do it not the day after after two days of public workers strikes! took her all morning to get to the place she was going nr Paris, rather than the budgeted 1/2 hr or so...

Oh, yes, we also need the inductive charging mat thingies so we can just throw the PDAs, phones etc onto a desktop & have them suck up volts from the ether without having to plug anything in :)

the 6310i is a lovely phone. The Palm Tungsten is a lovely PDA. I have both.

it really is a doddle to sync the pair - why doesn't she just do it?!

are you alright on your own in Sussex, dear? :)

Yep, I have same problem. Bluetooth Clie, bluetooth phone... Pick Clie up and find battery at zero and suddenly think "Oh yes, DAMMIT, you still have to plug it into the MAINS!"
