the Astra's gorne lame again - the back passenger wheel has locked up when we came to use it just - we should have it shot I think :) Apparently older Astras do this. So I need to get my nice hammer and thwack the back of the disk brakes. But where exactly, eh? I forgot to pay attention when the very very nice AA man did it last time...

I think I shall be hiding that post from the mindygoth lest it give her ideas - "excuse me, I have to go thwack my blokes nuts with a mallet..."

I'd be tempted to leave the car in gear and the handbrake off in future, or at least try not to apply it with all your strength (in the style of Geoff Capes).

Hmm... maybe not a good habit to get into if you occasionally park in hilly locations - although that would rid you of the problem permanently.

that's the plan, yes. handbrake off whilst he's on the flat (like, int he drive here), in 1st gear. Just have to remember to take it out of gear before starting!

I'll be taking Mr Hammer round with me now as well I think, just for when I need to thwack my nuts...
