bloody Dark Ages

Want to save money by cancelling the Sky+ subscription. Seems the BBC & ITV are changing their Free To View thingies, with the BBC having switched to FTA (Free To Air, no card at all needed) with ITV C4 & 5 still FTV but needing to have a subscription on Sky - existing Free To View cards get canned sometime soon (apparently, [LogoFreeTV] has lots of good info)

And we can't get Freeview (digital terrestrial broadcasting received via a rooftop aerial rather than via a satellite) here either, according to their [postcode checker].

So, no DSL, no cable, expensive satellite.
Brilliant.
My cunning plan to convert everyone into R4 FM listeners (**1) seems to be coming along nicely.
"Wave at the nice digital world passing us by..."

**1 : oh, and we're in a shitehole for DAB reception as well.

I didn't understand most of that but do listen to R4 lots, especially first thing before I get up and lots last week when in bed ill.

I have it on the car radio and the alarm radio. I have satellite tv because cable is worse, although it's not worth having just now. Nothing much on. I have blueyonder broadband for connecting which gets me R4 and you get it on tv too.

How about opening a new technology park in the paddock? Then knick their bandwidth.
