officially giving up on DAT, am cleaning out the old tapes & throwing them away, and then to find a home for the DDS4 tape drive I paid a grand for a bit ago...

Wonder what to do next for backup - get a decent backup program & use the external firewire HDDs? Very tempting...

I have some Onstream ADRs that I don't use any more.

Go for DLT, and buy cheap tapes on Ebay!

I think I've gone for the "ah sod it" approach and am awaiting a catestrophic disk failure / house disappearing into a black hole.
translation : I've not particularly got anything worth keeping :)
