blimey, don't loose your car keys, a replacement may cost 25 quid! (vauxhall astra. apparently has a chip in it that the immoboliser verifies to check that you are you and you have the right key)
expensive things, these cars. or is it expensive things, this loosing things & bad memory...

Date: 2003-10-27 05:47 am (UTC)Sams mother has mislaid her keys to the Pajero thing, fortunatly we still have one set. That's apparently going to costa fortune to get the immobliser tweaked if the final set go walkies.
Oh for some form of biometric systems!

Date: 2003-10-25 12:43 pm (UTC)I've just thought - would it be a good idea if maybe your car was opened by the same key that opend your house/flat? Benefits - one key does all. No huge bundle of keys, and goodbye to fumbling to find which one is the car key.
Drawbacks - one loss/breakage buggers up everything / one theft leaves everything open to burglary.
Okay, maybe not such a great idea...
What if cars opened to your fingerprints? Like KITT! That would be cool! And then you could get that guy who played the cardiac surgeon in "St Elsewhere" to do the car's voice.
If everyone used buses instead of cars, they wouldn't lose their keys in the first place, because there would be no keys to lose...
I'll shut up now...
